Which wireless tv headphone is better: the RF or the Infared?

By admin

I’m shopping for wireless headphones for tv. I can’t decide which one is a better choice: the Radio Frequency or the Infared.

RF headphones have better range and can compensate for interference much better than infrared headphones. RF headphones like the Sennheiser RS 140 has a wireless balancing system to get a high quality sound. In fact, I would recommend only Sennheiser headphones. They are high quality and low price which sounds like an oxymoron but it is true.

Check the Sennheiser RS 140 specs here:

They’ll each get interference, but from different things. RF can get interference from electrical ciruits, wireless phones, routers, etc. Infared can get interference from sunlight. While both probably get too much, it’s really up to you. If there isn’t too much sunlight in your listening area, go with infared.
