im looking to buy a pair of these noise canceling headphones mainly for mowing the lawn:

and wanted to know if they would be as good as a regular set of ear muffs when im on my ride mower as far as blocking out the extremely loud sound of the tractor blades without having to blast my music ???

I have some the same as these they are the in ear type and they are great they cancel out the noise of our mowing tractor just fine. but otherwise the beasty headphones on amazon should suit your needs.
