For the first-time I purchased a Noise Canceling headphone, Bose QC 15 in this case. Having no prior experience with using these. I was just wondering for anyone who has these headphones, what sorta noise does these eliminate?

While I do notice some noise reduction, I don’t see what the hype is all about when people say it completely eliminates noise. I can still hear people talking in the background, I can still hear the TV or music playing in the background with the noise cancellation feature on. Just not as loud. I was hoping it would eliminate the sounds completely.

Am I expecting too much? Just making sure I didn’t purchase a defective product.

You are expecting too much.

They work better for constant background noise , say the engines in an airplane, or traffic.
Then simply subtract it. Non white noise, like people talking is much harder to detect and remove.
