Best headphones for plane travel?
ByCan anyone recommend a good set of headphones for use on a plane as well as at home? I am after good sound quality (mainly for use with Ipod), as well as insulating from noise. In the past, I have had the Ipod at nearly full volume during the plane flight to drown out the noise, but this cannot be good for the ears. I am hoping to get a pair of headphones good enough that I don’t have to blast my ears.
I don’t want the ‘active noise reduction’ ones, eg. Bose Quiet Comfort. Either a good earbud type that have good sound quality as well as keeping cabin noise out, or a pair of closed cans that do the same thing.
I am willing to spend up to $300.
Thanks.
I own these headphones by Bose - they’re not noise cancelling, but they sound GREAT and you don’t need to blast your iPod to hear them.

Like I said, not all of the cabin noise will be kept out, but the around-ear design does help lower it some. They’re very comfortable, too.
Hope this helps.
