I’ve heard great things about Bose, but I’m wondering if there is anything that will still do a very good job at less cost. I want to add that I want to get them becuase I have autism and am extremely sound sensitive to everyday sounds-most especially crying/shreiking kids and dogs barking. I want to hear from those of you with experience. Thank you.

Maybe what you need is a white/pink noise generator and a regular headphones.The white/pink noise will cover the disturbing sounds and this kind of noise will relax you(it is the sound of seaside ,waves).
