My monitor keeps on rolling or shaking i have tried degaussing it but that is no help?
ByIt seems to shimmer for want of a better description it is only a normal monitor not a flat screen or anything nice like that and it has only started doing this shimmer thing since our new neighbours moved in I also pick up there child alarm on my cordless headphones I wonder if the two problems may be linked I have checked all the connections and they are all ok help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Electric fans (the personel one), cell phones, some speakers, drive monitors nuts. The child alert if it is an fm transmitter type that is interfering with your headset, is a very good suspect. If your computer is near a window, it makes the child alert an even better suspect.
Good Luck

Sounds like it’s time to get a new monitor.

If it’s jittering it could be electro magnetic interference but to pick it up froma distance as far as another house is a long shot. Try moving it to another location in your house further away from the nieghbors. If it clears up or is not as bad you have your answer. If they are generating that sever of an EMI then you have cause to complain.
You sure they are not aliens???

If you have a mobile phone near it that may interfere with it.

Good answers already given so I thought I would just add that degaussing is not for this kind of problem. A CRT is a magnetic device, so if say you brought a magnet near your CRT you would see that the colors would be pulled to this point and if the magnetic field stayed there then your colors around this area might remain distorted. Degaussing applies a magnetic field all around your CRT and smooths out any distortion like this.
