Having Christmas surprises ruined?

By admin

I have given my dad a Christmas list that he keeps by his computer to order my presents from the internet, and he has crossed out the ones he has got me. But he has stupidly left it on show for me to see, with the ordered presents crossed out! I now know that I am getting the Wii game ‘Pool Party’, a shaver and some cordless headphones! What should I do, should I tell him I know what I’m getting? Has it ruined Christmas?

Maybe he crossed off the ones he isn’t getting you! He probably knows you are looking and he might be messing with you. Either way, don’t tell him. Your Christmas is not ruined.

If you made a list for christmas, you already knew that you would be getting some of the items. Therefore, christmas hasn’t been ruined at all. Besides, christmas is not only about presents, it’s about being with your family and enjoying the holiday together. Even if you aren’t "surprised" about what you’re getting, you can still show your dad how much you appreciate him spending his hard-earned money on gifts for you.

no, of course it hasn’t ruined christmas!
christmas is about more than just the presents you get, it’s about GIVING. it’s really nice of your dad to buy you that stuff! instead of being angry that you saw the list, think of how much he must love you to buy you all those things!
christmas is about the feeling of the holidays, and celebrating with the people you love! gifts are just an added bonus, and even though the element of surprise is gone, you can still have an amazing holiday!
merry christmas! (and i’m sure yours will be!)

i think you should just focus on the day.it wont be ruined.the only way it will be ruined if you cant spend it with the people you love.family friends are important.presents forget bout them.its spending time with your family and friends that counts.on the bright side you don’t know what your mum or the rest of yr family are getting you or friends.

How is your Christmas ruined? You gave him a list, so you are expecting them, no? Besides it’s his computer, you shouldn’t have been snooping. And do not call your Dad stupid, you gave him the list after all. What did you think he was going to do with it?

Don’t let it ruin your christmas, I know what I`m getting for christmas and I also had a surprise present that I bought for someone as well ruined - I bought my girlfriend a little surprise present of the Frankie Boyle DVD to go with her bigger presents and she saw the parcel arrive from HMV.com and it was so obviously a DVD and I said it was a little surprise for her - so she thought that she then had to go get me a surprise and came back with a DVD and I just knew it was the same one!! so I asked her and now shes spoiled the surprise for both of us - but christmas isn`t all about surprises and presents its about being with your family and your mates and having a good time, in this country we don’t celebrate enough so I`m going all out this christmas and new year to have a good time and appreciate the gestures from friends and family without really caring what the presents are - sorry if that answer is a bit long and soppy but it just snowed a little bit here and I`m in the festive spirit- funk it I might get drunk tonight to celebrate - all the best and have a nice christmas
