a way to use headphones on tv with no H/P socket?

By admin

Hi, i have just bought a shiny new plasma tv, but although it has loads of inputs and outputs there is not one for connecting headphones
Is there another way to use my cordless H/P with the TV
Thanx

there will be two or more phono jacks; one will be red, the other probably black or white. Red right audio, black/white left audio. If there’s a yellow one as well, it’s composite video - ignore.

Go down to Maplin and get yourself 2 x male phono to 1 x female stereo 2.5mm jack, or other jack size if you’ve got big clever headphones

hi, i have used rf h/p for years on my television. this can be done in three ways i know. the first — and easiest — is, if your tv or video/dvd recorder has output phono sockets you can connect to an amplifier then use the amps h/p socket. a tv with a h/p socket also has a volume control, straight from the phonos do not (it is usually quiet) so has to go through an amp of some sort.this way has a problem. if you are recording you cannot switch back to tv to listen to that, you will hear what’s recording. contact me for other ways. chris.

Plug the TV into a hi-fi and then H/P into that. Otherwise I don’t know! lol
