Archive for surround sound headphones

i got a radio station talking about someone having to kill their kid (it was a guy) and it sounded like he was calling in from a radio? what’s happening?

Lets hope he was referring to a goat. Its very common to pick up radio stations (usually AM) with electronics. Hopefully nothing is wired wrong.

Surround sound headphones?

Posted by: admin | Comments (2)

i’m planning on getting these surround sound headphones that uses usb to connect to the pc….if i need to use this, would i still need to have a pci surround sound adapter installed?

No you won’t because the sound won’t be going through the card it will just be sent through the usb port and the headphones will most likely do everything else just like the usb sound cards you can get.

I’m thinking about getting some surround sound headphones, but their pretty damn expensive, so I wanted so other people’s opinions. What did you use? Did hey work really well, could you place peoples footsteps well in games? How much? Just lookin for any recommendations, thanks.

AHHHH now we ar talking!! OK here we go.. First off Trittons are good get the Ax Pro Pc they are usb and have 4 speakers in each ear can. Now if you have an optical out on your sound card of dvd player hdtv so on so forth get the Tritton AX Pro, or Tritton 720 the 720s only have one 40mm speaker in each ear can but they are amazing I have these they can be used with ANY optical output. They work well with 5.1 movies like the dvds with the THX optimizer showing the diff channels running theses headsets sound like you have a big surround sound system and you actually hear the diff corners of the space its amazing.. Now the Logitech G35s don’t waist your time and money they are simulated surround sound and not compatible with all games in surround sound 5.1 settings. The Plantronics gamecom 777 are descent sounding but flimsy. Turtle Bach ear force x 41s are good but also need an optical out to work but can hear corners well.. Last a good set that is not surround sound are the logitech clear chat usb headset it is loud and clear.That’s just a list of under 200$ headsets well not the turtles but anyway there are alot more then just theses google search and youtube theses and see what is said about them but personally The Trittons in the links below are Awesome!!!! I Promise…

I recently bought the Triton AX720 headphones from BestBuy and have it completely set up and everything.. I’ve supposedly been playing my games with them in 5.1, although something sounds a little off.. I had someone tell me to try and change my sound settings to enable 5.1 surround sound, but I don’t know how.. help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

P.S. Before you ask, yeah I have the right sound options set up as well on the amp. I just want to know how to change my sound settings to 5.1 on my computer.
You CAN have 5.1 surround with headphones.. no idea what you’re smoking. However, the Triton AX720 use a very closely "simulated" 5.1 surround sound..

For all you negative nancy’s telling me you can’t have 5.1 surround sound with headphones. READ.

Anyway I found out how to enable it, and am now enjoying Modern Warfare 2 with full on 5.1 Surround Sound on my HEADPHONES :)
As the other answer says, you can’t get 5.1 sound from headphones. You also need a sound card capable of 5.1 sound before you can enable it on your computer. Do you have such a card? If so, there should have been drivers for it and software to enable selecting 5.1.

Which surround sounds Headphones?

Posted by: admin | Comments (3)

i am thinking of getting some fairly good quality headphones that i can use to play my xbox 360, i want a good quality sound that i can play loud without disturbing anyone else in the house… now i know headphones cannot be ture surround sound but there are headphones out there that have vertual surround sound. i am looking to spend about £80 but i could spend more if needed. Im not that bothered about them being wireless, and it was my thinking if they are wired then you are paying more for the sound quality rather than the wireless technology. So if anyone who knows about headphones, or has a pair of surroud sound headphones that they really love please help me out… cheers

These are Fab!!

Com’on Shannon. Tell us what you really think. lol

If you don’t have a headphone jack on the front of your system, you might have an "audio out" on the back. If you have neither, you can go to radio shack and get a "speaker level to line level" converter. Once you have it, it will be obvious how to hook it up, and this will work for sure. Use this third option only as a last resort.

Edit: Wow, Shannon deleted her rude and insensitive answer. Or maybe someone reported her. Either way, good riddens.

ps3 bluetooth surround sound headphones?

Posted by: admin | Comments (1)

i m really into online gaming but dont have 5.1 surround system so wanted to know if any headphones available that can produce similar sound qual and compatible with ps3 via bluetooth
fast answrs plzz!!

The PS3 will not transmit game sound through any form of wireless, let alone Bluetooth.

The only form of surround sound headphones are headphones that plug into the optical output of the PS3.

Headphones that offer both voice chat and game sound is already difficult to find as it is; don’t bother looking for a set that also offers REAL surround sound. Just get the Turtle Beach Earforce PX1; its probably one of the best headphones for people who want both game sound and voice chat in a set of headphones. It retails for about $80.

What’s better?
I know 7.1 is more than 5.1, but which enhances better music, movie sound, and gaming quality?

I would recommend the Turtle Beach Audio Advantage SRM

The quality of the sound generated by the Audio Advantage was excellent. As a matter of fact, my girlfriend who has never used anything but on-board sound, really enjoyed the clarity and quality of the experience and she dubbed it an “it’s all that”. Unfortunately my laptop is broken, because I would have loved to hear the difference. The Turtle Beach Audio Advantage SRM is truly a listening experience that I will treasure.

Pros:

* Portability
* Easy Installation
* Easily tweaked through control panel
* Built in Microphone
* Utilizes less CPU Memory

Cons:

* If I can think of one I’ll let you know
