Like any home studio equipment, good is not cheap.
If you want cheap, go to Circuit City, Best Buy, Sam Ash or Guitar Center & test their Sony headphones to find the ones you think sound best. Sony makes some pretty good sounding headphones for under $100, some as low as $20.
If you want good headphones go to Sam Ash or Guitar Center & test the headphones that are within your budget. The two most popular headphone with both Club DJs & production DJs (recording studio DJs) are the Sennheiser HD 280 Pro ($100) & the Sennheiser HD 25 ($200)
You do not want headphones with an attached microphone, unless you want them just because you think it looks cool. It’s better to use a microphone mounted on a mic stand.
The two most popular microphones with rappers are the Shure SM58 & Shure Beta 58A, but those are dynamic mics. Good for multi-purpose use (Both a live stage mic & a recording mic.).
Condenser microphones are better for recording.

Hearing Loss???
Posted by: | Commentsis it normal to loose some hearing capabilities when you are bent down
example i bend down with my back to reach for something on the floor and my hearing starts acting up like if i were wearing a pair of noise reduction headphones or something and returns to normal when standing upright
As always, you should be checking with a medical provider regarding anything having to do with hearing loss. I’m not a provider, but I work with a lot of hearing impaired individuals. It is possible that you have fluid in your middle ear that is shifting when your head is bent over. It is also possible that you have something called ‘pulsatile tinnitus’ where you are hearing your own blood rushing when your head is down and that is causing other sounds to be muffled. Pulsatile tinnitus can be the symptom of something more serious, so you really need to get checked out by a qualified ENT

The superb-sounding Altec Lansing AHP712 headphones with Active Noise Reduction are ideal for the frequent traveler and anyone in a noisy environment. Active Noise Reduction technology uses small microphones to listen to ambient sounds and special circuitry to create a sound wave 180 degrees out of phase from the ambient sounds. When the sound wave is played through the headphones, it reduces ambient noises, such as airplane engines and subway rumbles, to allow you to focus on your music, movies or games.
