What is the best noise cancelling headphones?
Posted by: | CommentsI’ve looked at Maxell for $30, Seinnheiser PXC-250 for $150 of the Bose Quiet Comfort 2 for $300. Is there really a big difference? Any others I should consider? I travel a lot.
i’m travelling at the moment and using the seinnheiser pxc, they do the trick, plus i’ve been through 3 headphones so far, but these are buy far th best.
the bose are nice but not worth the 3 bills you gotta fork.
but there is a big difference between the maxells and the seinnheiser, its better to just fork out the extra 120 for quality headphones.

What’s the difference between noise cancelling and noise isolation headphones?
Posted by: | CommentsI’m going on a flight in a few weeks, and want some good [though low budget!] headphones. I’m wondering what’s the difference between noise cancelling and noise isolation headphones? Would noise isolation headphones be just as good at disguising aircraft engine noise?
Noise canceling headphones have a circuit that listens to the outside noise and sends an opposite sound to the headphones to cancel the noise. Sound isolation headphones are more simple. They cover your ears and have insulation inside the headphones to muffle the outside sounds.
What I do on airplanes is just get some cheap foam earplugs and read a book or magazine.
