When i plug in my headphones to my computer I cant hear any sound. I checked the sound speech and audio devices control panel and all volume is turned up all the way. Do I have to buy something? does anyone know how i could fix this?

I had some headphones that came with roseta stone language learning system, I don’t know what brand they are but I need to replace them. If I buy another brand either in amazon or radiochak, will they work? the headphones have a microphone and stuff- Sorry if I’m using the wrong term.
