When I plug in my headphones into my computers speakers there is a loud buzzing in the left ear piece. The headphones work fine when I use them for anything else. And when there’s no headphones in the speaker, there’s no buzzing. I just bought these speakers. So why when I use headphones is there a loud buzzing in the left ear piece and how do I fix it?
And I donno if there’s a bad connection, I don’t think so. I checked everywhere. The buzzing stops when it’s unplugged from the wall so it’s not coming from the tower(where its also plugged in) but I don’t know what to do.
Good troubleshooting on your part. You eliminated the headphones as the problem, and eliminated the tower as the problem. The only thing left is the female plug socket in the speakers. Male pin configuration in stereo headphones is almost universal.
It now becomes a warranty problem. If possible use a friend’s headphones to further prove your point, then contact the store. Explain your troubleshooting methods to them as you did to me.
Sure hope I helped you, Mac.

how do i get sound back on computer? The headphones work, but no sound without them.?
Posted by: | CommentsThe headphones are working fine, but once i unplugged them their is no sound at all! The computer is a gateway.
First, check to make sure your computer isn’t muted or the volume isn’t too low to hear anything. If that doesn’t work, try updating your sound driver from here [http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers/dlcenter.asp?cmpid=topnav]. If that still doesn’t fix your problem, try contacting Gateway or checking their support site to determine what the problem is.
And if you know the model your using, that could help me help you further.
