Can Noise Cancelling Headphones increase the chance of having brain cancer?
Posted by: | CommentsAlways talking on a cell phone can increase the chance of having brain cancer. A noise cancelling headphone uses a battery to operate. It emits frequency to interfere the noise in the background and it is 85% noise cancellation. I am wondering whether it will have the same effect as a cell phone which can increase the chance of having brain cancer if we talk on it too often. I have ear pain and that’s why I don’t want to use ear plugs.
No.
Active noise cancellation headphones emit in the audio range (and phase inverted version of the surrounding noise). Telephones emits in the hundreds of millions of hertz (cycles/sec) range. Which heats up and vibrates your braincells possibly eventually leading to their mutation and a tumor in some people.
Basic rule of thumb, if its a natural range, natural food, or a naturally occuring chemical it probably won’t give you cancer.
If its man-made, a frankenfood, or is made by a guy in a lab coat it may give you cancer.
If you get ear pain it could be a result of the pressure from the firm fit of the ear plug or the volume. Use it at a reasonable volume (snug headphones can cause headphone cause they direct sound pressure right onto the drum with no ventilation of pressure). Rest your ears. Keep them dry. Don’t use cotton wool buds (Q-tips) inside your ear. Clean them with a MILD 3% hydrogen peroxide solution if they get waxy using an eyedropper) MAKE SURE ITS A DILUTE 3% NO STRONGER.
Which headphones should I get?
Posted by: | CommentsI’ve narrowed it down to three, and two of those are just different colours. Please help me decide - i’m useless at decisions!

I want to buy a pair of wireless headphones that I can use without having to plug anything into my computer. I went to buy a pair of bluetooth headphones and I saw that they came with a little receiver thing that plugs into a headphone jack. I don’t want this thing plugged into my computer. Is it if I’m using the headphones on a computer that has bluetooth?
If your computer already had a Bluetooth receiver built in you don’t need to buy a spare Bluetooth receiver for your headphones. You would just run the Bluetooth wizard to pair the headphones with the computer.
I want to be able to walk around outside and talk hands free (with headphones and built in microphone) and talk on Skype and still have the capability to make phone calls without having to come back inside the house and dial with the computer.
Of course. I’m just the messenger here, so at $164 it’s really pricey.

Look around. You may be able to find Skype DECT phones for less.

Which wireless tv headphone is better: the RF or the Infared?
Posted by: | CommentsI’m shopping for wireless headphones for tv. I can’t decide which one is a better choice: the Radio Frequency or the Infared.
RF headphones have better range and can compensate for interference much better than infrared headphones. RF headphones like the Sennheiser RS 140 has a wireless balancing system to get a high quality sound. In fact, I would recommend only Sennheiser headphones. They are high quality and low price which sounds like an oxymoron but it is true.
Check the Sennheiser RS 140 specs here:

for audiophiles and people who like music?
Posted by: | Commentswhat headphone suggestions do you have? i need earbuds WITHOUT and in-line and WITH noise-cancelling or some other sort of noise reduction stuff. my price range is up to $150. silicone earpieces are preferable b/c i have funky ears. PLEASE DO NOT SUGGEST THE IPOD HEADPHONES.
My recommendation: Get sony’s In-Ear bud headphones, the ones that cancel-out noise and stuff, it was featured on Dotto Tech. You could get it off of iTunes, I forgot the name. But GL and hope you find a good pair. Also, they cost about 90 bucks.
ps3 bluetooth surround sound headphones?
Posted by: | Commentsi m really into online gaming but dont have 5.1 surround system so wanted to know if any headphones available that can produce similar sound qual and compatible with ps3 via bluetooth
fast answrs plzz!!
The PS3 will not transmit game sound through any form of wireless, let alone Bluetooth.
The only form of surround sound headphones are headphones that plug into the optical output of the PS3.
Headphones that offer both voice chat and game sound is already difficult to find as it is; don’t bother looking for a set that also offers REAL surround sound. Just get the Turtle Beach Earforce PX1; its probably one of the best headphones for people who want both game sound and voice chat in a set of headphones. It retails for about $80.
Can someone recommend some good noise cancelling headphones?
Posted by: | CommentsTo wear on the train, I don’t need the $300 Bose ones, just one that will reduce the noise enough to listen to an audiobook. Im thinking under $50. Again dont need the fancy ones, I may fall asleep and miss my stop.
bose buddy. helloooooo. get with the prog
Need help on choosing a good set of headphones.?
Posted by: | CommentsHey guys, i’m currently using a pair of Panasonic RP-HTF350 headphones, and although they’re pretty good, for Christmas or my Birthday i’d like a really good pair. At the moment, I only really use them for playing my guitar on, and playing CoD4 (Surround sound, can hear footsteps from certain directions etc.) Anyways, I was looking at SkullCandys, as I would like to wear them around, and they’re pretty funky. So I wanted to know which model of Skullcandys have the best sound quality, as that is a priority.
If you know any other brand, which offer good multi purpose headphones, which good look too. Feel free to post them.
Links would be good as well. But yeah, I can spend around 60£ on them ($120)
Before I looked at the extra detail of your question I was saying to myself SkullCandy and you said it too. Anyways, yes, I would definitely get SkullCandy headphones. All of SkullCandy’s headphones are great so you can get anything, but I would prefer over-ear headphones.
i am trying to work my headphones and the computer speakers at the same time is it possible, if it is how? can you please tell me?
Certainly! Head over to your local radioshack or walmart and ask the employee for a headphone cable splitter. It may look like a box or it can just be three wires that are joined together in the middle. Once you have that and are back home, find out where your speakers are plugged into the back of your computer. Unplug the speakers, and then plug in the splitter. Plug your headphones into one of the loose ends of the splitter, and your speakers into the other end. Sound should come from both sources after that.
