And where is it located?

Big sets like that generally don’t have headphone jacks. See the ref below for the specs on this one.

The way I get around that with my 46-inch set is to use the headphone jack on my surround sound amplifier. I just turn the audio on the TV all the way down, then plug into the headphone jack on the amplifier. Works great, plus I can use the remote for the amp to adjust audio level in the headphones. This is a neat arrangement when I’m watching some noisy action movie that the wife would fine annoying.

With a big set, you’ll want a long extender cable for the headphones, or dedicated wiring between the amp and your viewing position.

Hello. I have a HP Compaq desktop computer and my brother just installed Vista onto it last night. Before that, we had Windows XP. Anyway, after the installation, I noticed that I can only get sound through the computer, but when I instert my headphones into the headphone port on the drive, sound still only comes through the computer and not my headphones. How do I configure the computer to correct this?

Does your computer emit sounds through the speaker? Did you install the latest drivers or even compatible drivers for Vista? The drivers for XP aren’t compatible with Vista.. try right-clicking the speaker-like icon on your system tray, click "Open volume mixer". Look for the volume levels if they’re left maxed out or not.

I purchased some wireless headphones but when you plug them in it cuts off the tv sound. I want to get sound from both the tv and the headphones so that my wife can watch the same programme without having the volume too loud.

You need to get an RCA to 3.5mm adapter and connect to the audio output on the TV, if it has one.

Not sure which to choose from. Both have excellent reviews. However I will be using these at home constantly and am looking for comfort too (which someone mentioned was poor after 40 minutes of wearing the Skullcandy GI’s). However, the Goldring headphones are reduced from £160 to £50 (yet the GI’s can be found at a discounted price of just under £35).

I recently bought the Triton AX720 headphones from BestBuy and have it completely set up and everything.. I’ve supposedly been playing my games with them in 5.1, although something sounds a little off.. I had someone tell me to try and change my sound settings to enable 5.1 surround sound, but I don’t know how.. help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

P.S. Before you ask, yeah I have the right sound options set up as well on the amp. I just want to know how to change my sound settings to 5.1 on my computer.
You CAN have 5.1 surround with headphones.. no idea what you’re smoking. However, the Triton AX720 use a very closely "simulated" 5.1 surround sound..

For all you negative nancy’s telling me you can’t have 5.1 surround sound with headphones. READ.

Anyway I found out how to enable it, and am now enjoying Modern Warfare 2 with full on 5.1 Surround Sound on my HEADPHONES :)
As the other answer says, you can’t get 5.1 sound from headphones. You also need a sound card capable of 5.1 sound before you can enable it on your computer. Do you have such a card? If so, there should have been drivers for it and software to enable selecting 5.1.

I am currently taking a class where a lot of work is done online listening to audio lectures though headphones while other people are talking or making noise around me. I am looking for a good, cheap pair of Noise cancelling headphones under $100. Does anyone have a good recommendation?
Im looking for specific brands and styles

ebay has a lot of them

I know noise canceling headphones do block out a bit of it but is that because of the noise canceling system or ear just being covered blocks it out. And I’m planning on buying Panasonic RP-HC500.

Noise cancelling headphones will block out most but not all outside noise by using a small microphone to pick it up and a small amplifier and some processing circuitry to create an inverted version of the noise that is then used to cancel the noise that reaches your ears by other paths. It’s like adding a positive number to a negative number in mathematics. When two sounds are equal but precisely opposite in pressure, the result is zero. Headphones that mechanically block as much unwanted outside sound as possible will have less noise that will need cancelling by electronic means.

Some brands and models come closer to the theoretical ideal than others. As with any headphone, it’s best to try before you buy. Flipping the switch on most models can be almost eerie to hear (or not hear).

I need to record some audio off a video i have on my computer, and i tried without headphones in and i got all the background noise from around my house, so i want to do it with headphones in, only problem is when i record it, it turns out really low sound, even if i have the volume up the highest when im recording, i need it really good quality! can anyone help me :)?
im using the program ‘audacity’ to record from the comp.

Wondershare Streaming Audio Recorder uses virtual sound card to record any sound played through your sound card, record music from any online music sites and radio stations like MySpace, Napster, Rhapsody, XM radio, AOL radio, etc. After recording, you can split audio files; edit ID3 tags like title, artist, and genre. Or, you can add recorded file to iTunes, Windows Media Player, or Winamp.

Having Christmas surprises ruined?

Posted by: admin | Comments (9)

I have given my dad a Christmas list that he keeps by his computer to order my presents from the internet, and he has crossed out the ones he has got me. But he has stupidly left it on show for me to see, with the ordered presents crossed out! I now know that I am getting the Wii game ‘Pool Party’, a shaver and some cordless headphones! What should I do, should I tell him I know what I’m getting? Has it ruined Christmas?

Maybe he crossed off the ones he isn’t getting you! He probably knows you are looking and he might be messing with you. Either way, don’t tell him. Your Christmas is not ruined.
